I've been doing a bit of research into my heritage lately, and since I'm from Northern Europe, I've been reading a lot about the Vikings that lived along the coast of what is now Holland, Germany and Denmark.
Apparently, these ancestors of mine from over a thousand years ago were a cantankerous bunch of plunderers, and I enjoyed reading about some of their more interesting exploits!
I also ran across this historical travel document today at the library! (It shows some of their old customs!)
