Socialism is not a dirty word!

 I just spent the past several days reading (on and off) about Socialism, Socialists and social programs. 

In all honesty I think someone in the United States should sit the population down and give them a good lecture on what socialism/socialist programs are really all about.

Tell them how the government, along with the military industrial complex, is giving the American public the biggest screwing in the history of mankind!

Back in the 1950s President/General Dwight Eisenhower gave the people of the United States a stern warning about the American Military Industrial complex. It was set to run rampant in a quest for money and power... and I'll be damned if that's not what happened! (See Video)

Here are some of them:

1. Lockheed Martin Corp. • Country: United States.
2. Boeing. • Country: United States. ...
3. Raytheon. • Country: United States. ...
4. BAE Systems. • Country: United Kingdom. ...
5. Northrop Grumman Corp. • Country: United States. ...
6. General Dynamics Corp. • Country: United States.

Not only that, American big business saw the military/industrial example and decided they wanted in on the cash-cow as well. 

This meant industrial concerns like the big three automakers and General Electric got in on the game too!

Power companies like The Tennessee Valley Authority and Pacific Gas and Electric were not to be left out folks!

In quick succession the Insurance conglomerates, big media, big medicine and big pharma got in on the act. 

Then big oil and big transportation (railroads and trucking) and research giants like United Technologies got their taste too!

As these companies got bigger and bigger their share of the economic pie grew as well. 

It got to the point the only way the government could afford this drain on the system was to cut social programs to pay for it all.

THIS LED TO THE DEMONIZING OF SOCIAL PROGRAMS AND "SOCIALISM" BECAME A DIRTY WORD. THE BIG CONGLOMERATES COULD THEN DIVERT MORE MONEY AWAY FROM THE AMERICAN POPULATION AND OVER TO BIG BUSINESS!

And that, my friends, is why socialism has a totally different meaning in the United States than it does in Canada or Europe! (Remember, socialism includes such things as police and fire departments, schools, health, road, infrastructure and public transportation.)

The way I see it anyway!
