Lock 'em up!

Ian Bremmer, a U.S. political commentator and president of the Eurasia Group was being interviewed on the CBC today!

Ian had this timely forecast:

"If Joe Biden loses the election... the Trump camp will probably try to get the DOJ to charge him with some sort of crime AND ATTEMPT TO PUT HIM IN JAIL... as Drumpf seeks a "get even" for any real and/or perceived slights!"

"If Donald Drumpf loses the election he's 100% GOING TO JAIL!" 😊

How can you convince me that (Barack Obama) Joe Biden was a good president?

 Allan:

The sentence I hear most from well-meaning, conservative friends since President Trump’s election is this: “We suffered 8 years under Barack Obama.”

Fair enough. Let’s take a look. (Fox news keeps saying he hasn't done anything!)

-The day Obama took office, the Dow closed at 7,949 points. Eight years later, the Dow had almost tripled, closing at 21,414.

-General Motors and Chrysler were on the brink of bankruptcy, with Ford not far behind, and their failure, along with their supply chains, would have meant the loss of millions of jobs. Obama pushed through a controversial, $8o billion bailout to save the car industry. The U.S. car industry survived, started making money again, and the entire $80 billion was paid back, with interest.

-While we remain vulnerable to lone-wolf attacks, no foreign terrorist organization has successfully executed a mass attack here since 9/11.

-Obama ordered the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden.

-He drew down the number of troops from 180,000 in Iraq and Afghanistan to just 15,000 and increased funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

-He launched a program called Opening Doors which, since 2010, has led to a 47 percent decline in the number of homeless veterans.

-He set a record 73 straight months of private-sector job growth.

-Due to Obama’s regulatory policies, greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 12%, production of renewable energy more than doubled, and our dependence on foreign oil was cut in half.

-He signed The Lilly Ledbetter Act, making it easier for women to sue employers for unequal pay.

-His Omnibus Public Lands Management Act designated more than 2 million acres as wilderness, creating thousands of miles of trails and protecting over 1,000 miles of rivers.

-He reduced the federal deficit from 9.8 percent of GDP in 2009 to 3.2 percent in 2016.

-For all the inadequacies of the Affordable Care Act, we seem to have forgotten that, before the ACA, you could be denied coverage for a pre-existing condition and kids could not stay on their parents’ policies up to age 26.

-Obama approved a $14.5 billion system to rebuild the levees in New Orleans.

-All this, even as our own Mitch McConnell famously asserted that his singular mission would be to block anything President Obama tried to do.

-While Obama failed on his campaign pledge to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, that prison’s population decreased from 242 to around 50.

-He expanded funding for embryonic stem cell research, supporting groundbreaking advancement in areas like spinal injury treatment and cancer.

-Credit card companies can no longer charge hidden fees or raise interest rates without advance notice.

-Most years, Obama threw a 4th of July party for military families. He held babies, played games with children, served barbecue, and led the singing of “Happy Birthday” to his daughter Malia, who was born on July 4.

-Welfare spending is down: for every 100 poor families, just 24 receive cash assistance, compared with 64 in 1996.

-Obama comforted families and communities following more than a dozen mass shootings. After Sandy Hook, he said, “The majority of those who died today were children, beautiful little kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years old.”

-Yet, he never took away anyone’s guns.

-He sang Amazing Grace, spontaneously, at the altar.

-He was the first president since Eisenhower to serve two terms without personal or political scandal.

-He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

-President Obama was not perfect, as no man and no president is, and you can certainly disagree with his political ideologies. But to say we suffered?

If that’s the argument, if this is how we suffered for 8 years under Barack Obama, I have one wish: may we be so fortunate as to suffer 8 more exactly like it. (coming - AJ)

Now the Republicans are saying the same thing about Joe Biden!!!!!

Here are 23 of Joe Biden’s greatest accomplishments as president of the United States.

10. Achieved historically low unemployment rates after the pandemic caused them to skyrocket.

11. Imposed a 15% minimum corporate tax on some of the largest corporations in the country, ensuring that they pay their fair share, as part of the historic Inflation Reduction Act.

Should Biden have cancelled Keystone XL

 Allan:

Was Joe Biden’s signing of an executive order cancelling the Keystone pipeline a wise move given the money already invested and the prospects for continued US energy independence?

It was an incredibly stupid move on several fronts. First off, the oil in question will be extracted and used whether there is a Keystone XL pipeline or not. Next, there is the question of why the intense opposition to this pipeline in particular. Below is a map of major pipelines in the US:

From a purely logical standpoint, it’s difficult for any reasonable person to think that this one pipeline can in any way be the straw that broke the Camel’s back. So we have to wonder why. One theory is that it benefits Warren Buffet. In 2016 alone, he donated over $920 million to a pro-Obama PAC:

I would say that buys a lot of goodwill with politicians. Buffet owns a railroad that transports the same oil that ostensibly would be transported through the Keystone XL pipeline and cost Buffet millions and millions of dollars worth of business.

Buffett would profit from a Keystone cancellation.

So while there’s no concrete proof to say that was a factor, one would have to be a complete fool to ignore that it likely is a HUGE factor.

But back to logic about the topic. The oil will be extracted and burned regardless. Having the Keystone XL pipeline would mean reduced cost to transport the oil and the US has a stake and thus some control over the oil. By cancelling the pipeline, some if not most of that oil will head west and to Communist China.

China. Joe Biden. Hunter Biden. Reported payoffs from China to Joe Biden, aka “the big guy”, funneled through Hunter Biden. Hunter Biden flew on Air Force Two with “the big guy” to China in 2013. Shortly thereafter, Hunter Biden scored $1.5 billion from Communist China for some sort of investment firm Hunter was involved in.

Explainer: Trump's claims and Hunter Biden's dealings in China

So, the problem is, well, it’s several problems. Joe Biden is acting on behalf of China instead of the American people. Thousands of jobs will be lost with many already lost. It takes a LOT of people to build the pipeline, maintain it and handle the oil once it arrives in south Texas at the Gulf of Mexico. Joe Biden has insured the Chinese get that oil instead.

Obviously, this is bad for North American energy independence. But Joe Biden doesn’t care about that. He is bought and paid for by the Chinese government. You will see many other policy moves that benefit them in the coming years.

Bottom line: less American jobs, the oil gets burned in China where they don’t care about environmental standards, less energy security. But that’s politics for you. Joe Biden, like most politicians, cares more about the people lining his pockets than he does the American people.

BIDEN WINS AGAIN!

Joe Biden was officially declared the winner of the 2020 Presidential Election early this morning by Congress and the Senate, and when you add in all the recounts and other stuff he has now won the Presidency 28 times!

Way to go, Joe!

Run for the border after debate!

The first U.S. presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden on Tuesday was many things. A demonstration of the value of muting microphones. An exercise in how many people could talk over each other at once. A “shit show,” according to CNN.

And, as several people pointed out on Twitter, it made a pretty good case for, well, not being in the U.S.

Tuesday’s debate had a lot of Americans wanting  to make way for the northern border, or at the very least tweeting about it.

Google search results for “move to Canada” spiked in the hours following the debate, as many Americans contemplated abandoning their country for the true north strong and free.

But many Canadians and Americans alike were quick to point out that Canada might not want anything to do with the U.S. after that debate, and nonessential travel across the border remains restricted amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s also, of course, hardly the first time Americans have looked north of the 49th parallel in the wake of political upheaval. On the evening of the last U.S. election in 2016, Canada’s immigration site straight up crashed. There was a similar trend after Obama got elected for a second term.

So, for all you americans wanting to move to Canada... It looks like the border will be closed for at least a while longer.

The way I see it anyway!

How Biden will win the election!

We had the Perspective Research Department look into all possible scenarios for the upcoming U.S. election and they came up with an absolutely amazing possibility!

We all know that Drumpf won by a mere 44,000 votes from crucial swing States in 2016... but because of the pandemic about 172,000 of the 205,000 fatalities this year were Republicans killed in those same States because they refused to wear masks and didn't engage in proper social distancing at Trump rallies!

It seems ironic that the people who were ardent Drumpf supporters are also the same people that were killed off just enough to deny Donald a second term!!!!!

Life's a bitch, eh Donald!

Will Biden hang Obama and Trump’s portrait?

If Senator Joe Biden becomes president, sometime during the second half of his term President Trump’s portrait will be completed and ready to hang,,, along with that of former president Barack Obama. (Trump refused to hang it!)

I can confidently say that President Biden would normally  invite former president Trump to the White House, treat him as an honored guest and do his best to make Mr. Trump and his family feel welcome.

Unfortunately that will be impossible since by then Donald Trump's ass will have be in jail since the day he stepped down as President!!

The way I see it anyway!
