What a day yesterday.
It actually started out last week when I got some water from the drive-thru at Tim's donuts and they charged me two bucks for some bottled water!
Then a few days later I went to McDonald's and asked for water..... and they gave me a cup of water with a straw for FREE!
I immediately decided I would go to McDonald's from now on.
Yesterday I stopped at the Golden Arches for lunch and a simple big mac, small fries and coffee set me back twelve bucks....... so I guess it's back to Tim's from now on!
Then last night I went to pick up The Mrs. Herself at the train station and instead of getting in at 8 o'clock (The train left Toronto at 6) she finally made it here at 10.
That's right, a two hours train trip from Toronto took 4 hours.... and I later found out that everything was fine until they got to the rail yards here in London and a freight train was blocking the tracks. (Somebody parked it in the wrong spot)
Since it was a holiday (Thanksgiving) they couldn't get an engineer to move the freight train and the Via passenger train eventually had to back up almost 20 km to Ingersol and take a different track into London.
Swiss and Japanese trains run on time to the minute.... but since VIA passenger trains have to give way to freight trains here in Ontario this sort of thing happens way to often!
The way I see it anyway!
