Once again it's time to back the truck up and get things back into perspective here!
For years the gay community has claimed that about 10% of the population fits into the LGBTQ category while in actual fact the figure stood at about 3% according to most surveys.
But, with the inclusion of transgender, gender-neutral, bisexuals and all the gays that didn't answer truthfully because of societal norms..., we find that the actual percentage is about 5% of the population.
That's all well and good since we want an accurate estimate of who's doing what to whom! 😃
But, the gay community keeps inflating their numbers to make themselves seem more mainstream, and therefore more acceptable to the straight population and that has only gotten worse!
Now, instead of the claim that they are 10% of the population, I have heard statements recently that the LGBTQ crowd is about one-in-six!!!!
Not only is that a complete lie, but it would also mean that it was about 16% of the population.
This might seem like utter nonsense..., but let's look at it a different way.
If we look at popular TV shows such as Coronation Street (which my wife is crazy about) we find that the gay community is indeed represented as about 10 to 15% of the characters in the show.
This, however, is no surprise since a greater percentage of the people involved in show business are queer compared to the general population so they want to show themselves in the best light. (Creativity and 'gayness' seem to go hand in hand amongst the thespian community!)
I just wish they would stop inflating the figures!
