Bibllical History!

Well kids, todays question is brought to us by a biblical student who asks the question: "Do we have any hard evidence of civilization being older than 6,000 years old?"

The short and quick answer to that question is:

A: Yes.

This is Göbekli Tepe, in Anatolia in modern day Turkey.

It had been inhabited since at least 9000 BCE, around 11,000 years old.

But when it comes to irony, this location beats it.

This is 'Tell es-Sultan.' The oldest layers are about 500 years younger than Göbekli Tepe..., “only” 10,500 years old.

The irony is that 'Tell es-Sultan' is in Jericho.

Yes, the Jericho in the Bible.

So much for any literal interpretation of the bible!

The way I see it anyway!

We're all pink on the inside!

I was just reading an article about how and when our ancestors migrated out of Africa..., and it seems there were a whole bunch of different pilgrimages way back before even Neanderthals and Denisovans made their journeys! (Denisova hominins are an extinct subspecies of archaic humans that ranged across Asia during the Lower and Middle Paleolithic.)

Unfortunately, none of them survived long term..., and it wasn't until a tribe of wandering Jews settled somewhere along the Black Sea that modern humans started to take over the known world!

Yes, that's right kids, we are all descendants of Moses and David..., so you had better be careful about who you start to discriminate against!

It could be your great great great great great Uncle!

The way I see it anyway!

BOOKS, BOOKS, WE GOT BOOKS!

I spent the past several weeks revising and updating my book "An Exploration of Religion" and for anyone curious about the development of religion over the centuries and how this all ties in with scientific theories about our origins and development then I wholeheartedly urge you to give this book your attention!

For anyone more interested in just the disparate views between religion and science I have written a second book which is a condensation of the first book with some very important additions!

This book "What are the Chances!" looks at not only how we got here, but how we have managed to survive in a Universe that is not all that friendly to organic life. (Us!)

Either book is enjoyable reading and I hope you have a look at them and see how they correspond to your own outlook on life and living!

Biblical Plague?

On top of everything else going on in the United States, they're about to be hit with a plague as well!

In a few weeks, a natural spectacle will take place across much of the United States — one that is not found anywhere else in the world. Billions of cicadas that have spent years patiently growing in complete darkness will finally emerge, perfectly in sync, for a raucous party in the sun.

It's been 17 years, and the periodical insects, also known as Brood X, are back.

When the world last glimpsed the cicadas, Facebook was brand new, theatres were showing "Spider-Man 2," and the 2004 Summer Olympics were underway.

Since then, they've been underground, eating and reproducing.

"They're in the dark, they're feeding on roots, just living their best lives until the time is right," said Matt Kasson, an associate professor at West Virginia University who studies cicadas and the fungi that zombify them. "And that's when they decide, you know what, it may be time to go up and find a partner."

Beginning in late April or early May, once the ground is warm enough, billions of Brood X cicadas will be seen across a dozen states, stretching from Illinois to the west, Georgia to the south, and New York to the northeast.

The young cicadas, called "nymphs," claw their way out of the ground and climb up to shed their skins one last time and transform into adults.

They will have only a few weeks to sing, mate and begin the cycle again.
