I just read an article about a study done on COVID and scientists determined that the disease attacks the T-Cells of your immune system and leaves you susceptible to all sorts of shit because of your damaged immune system!

According to a new poll a majority of Canadians believe employees in key sectors — including health care and education — should be fired if they refuse to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Airline employees, schoolteachers, first responders, medical professionals, restaurant employees, construction workers and people who work for small businesses should lose their job if they refuse to get vaccinated,” Angus Reid Institute said in a statement Monday. “In Quebec (65%) and Ontario (71%), support for dismissal of unwilling medical professionals is considerable, despite their provincial government’s respective decisions.”
Angus Reid said support for giving unvaccinated workers the boot was strongest in Ontario, B.C., and Atlantic Canada, while Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec were less impressed with the idea.
Just like I said a few days ago, anyone NOT getting a vaccination should PAY for any medical help due to COVID-19. (This woman should be put in jail..., or perhaps a mental institution!!!!!!)

The “true believers” (the anti-vaxx crowd) are between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, they are convinced of at least some of the absurd nonsense spread about the vaccine. Microchips, infertility, sudden death, demonic possession….
Take your pick.
On the other hand, they see people they know, even their fellow anti-Vaxxers, sickening and dying of COVID.
What to do?
As the desperate have always done, seize upon unscientific nonsense.
This is nothing new, of course, we just don’t expect to see that much of it in developed and supposedly well-educated populations.
There are always fringe believers who think that crystals, essential oils, chanting, burning colored candles, or sacrificing chickens will protect them… But they’ve always been a tiny percentage.
Not now. We have large segments of the population who are refusing to get vaccinated. This is unprecedented…. I well recall the eagerness for the polio vaccine, and the researchers that developed it hailed as heroes. How have we gone so wrong?
You can blame it on the sorry state of science education, the extremely polarized society, the cult of personality surrounding the Orange Buffoon…. But it’s obvious that there’s a rather large swath of the populace that is deeply ignorant.

Of course getting a COVID vaccine and wearing a mask makes perfect sense..., so if you're wondering why so many people are against it..., just remember that back in the 50's a car's owners manual told you how to adjust the valves..., while the modern manual cautions you not to drink the windshield washer fluid!

Rather than post a Sunday Morning Funnies blog this week I think we should address the issue of people refusing to get vaccinated!
There was a report this week, (which we reported on) that all the States that voted Republican in the U.S. had a much greater rate of death from COVID-19 because more people were reluctant to get themselves protected against this terrible disease!
I don't know what causes people to ignore plain old common sense except that maybe the very stupiddity and gulibility that made them Republicans in the first place also makes them anti-vac-cers and anti-science.
Whatever the case..., people on the Right are dying in disproportianately large numbers..., and although it sounds cruel..., maybe we should let nature take it'ss course because it's time to thin the herd!

Republicans in the United States are slowly dying off because of their refusal to get a COVID vaccination! (New cases are surging in areas with low vaccination rates.)
The Delta variant, which is more contagious and more likely to cause severe disease, is partly responsible for that surge.

Is it a coincidence that the COVID pandemic started in "Yah Who" China in the same area that they have a high security laboratory where they are experimenting with mean, nasty, terrible viruses?

Is it a coincidence that China won't give out any info about what they were doing there around the end of 2019!

Is is a coincidence that 3 or 4 workers in the lab had to be hospitalized in November of 2019 with "flu-like" symptoms?
No!
What this all boils down to folks is a near certainty about not only where the bug started......., but when it started as well! (Mid November 2019)

There is a large group of ASSHOLES who keep complaining that their rights are being infringed when they can't go to large gatherings and must wear masks out in public!
Let me remind you of something kids, "Your right to swing your fists in the air ends at my nose!" (The corollary of that is "Ya can't yell fire in a crowded theatre!")
Following that line of reasoning..., until we reach "herd immunity" in the general population your right to spread the COVID-19 virus also ends at my nose!
Spreading COVID is no different than punching somebody in the face and as a matter of fact..., it's actually a lot worse since giving somebody COVID could kill them!

Yes, there is an infinitesimal chance that a woman between the ages of 18 to 50 can get a blood clot from the AstraZeneca vaccine.
BUT!
About ten times that number get blood clots from the covid virus itself.
PLUS: 1% of people who get sick with covid end up dying..., while Zero people who have been vaccinated will die!
I'm going for my AstraZeneca shot this afternoon!

We (The Mrs. Herself and I) got our appointment to get an AstraZeneca covid shot tomorrow and we aren't worried about that blood clot thing with that vaccination since it's only one in a million for women between 18 to 50.
To give you an idea of the risk here is a shot of about one hundred thousand people so it would take a crowd of TEN TIMES THIS SIZE for ONE person to have a reaction!
This is a lot better odds than one in a hundred to die from the virus!

Strathroy-Caradoc police warned Wednesday that people who attend an expected anti-restrictions protest in the community could be slapped with hefty fines. (London police should follow this example!)
“By contravening (the provincial stay-at-home order) and attending this event you could face a charge of $750 with surcharges, totalling $880,” police said on social media.
“We do have plans . . . to be organized and be ready in case there is a display of people still (despite the warning),” Const. Michelle McIntyre said.
It’s not clear when the protest might take place, although there were references on social media to events on Thursday and Saturday.
McIntyre said police didn’t want to give the event more publicity, thereby attracting more protesters.
No More Lockdowns Canada, a group that has sponsored protests in towns such as Simcoe and Leamington, could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
Strathroy-Caradoc police said online they respect the right of citizens to carry out peaceful protests, but due to the stay-at-home order that went into effect April 8, “these protests are prohibited at this time to ensure everyone remains healthy and safe.”
McIntyre pointed out police always have the option of laying charges after a demonstration has taken place, when additional information becomes available to investigators.
Several hundred people, none wearing masks and most not physically distancing, gathered at a rally in Simcoe last Saturday to protest the pandemic restrictions, including the stay-at-home order put in place by Premier Doug Ford to help contain the spread of the coronavirus during the pandemic’s third wave.
NOTE: There are a lot of assholes here in S.W. Ontario walking around infecting other people!
You might remember way back to yesterday when I complained that University (UWO) students were not practising safe-distance separating on campus and I thought this was one of the reasons they have been having so much trouble with covid outbreaks over there!
Well, this was in the news today:
A London postal code zone that includes one of the city’s largest student neighbourhoods is the highest in Ontario in the percentage of tests coming back positive for COVID-19, provincial data shows.
Yup, critical thinking doesn't set in to about the age of 25 or so and these kids prove it once again. (I am calling them kids instead of adults because they act like kids!)
While on a few errands today I took a shortcut thru the University of Western Ontario campus and was dismayed to see multiple picnic tables with anywhere from 4 to 8 kids sitting around each of them shooting the breeze without masks on like they didn't have a care in the world!
There is already a series of COVID outbreaks at UWO and according to these figures the lack of "critical thinking" amongst the students is costing us dearly:
In what has to be the height of hypocrisy there are dozens and dozens of Republican politicians in the United States that are now cheering parts of the COVID relief bill as if it was their own....., while EVERY SINGLE Congressman and Senator voted AGAINST IT!
Once again I am so glad we live up here in the frozen north (sic) where it's too cold for these sorts of shenanigans!
