The Vancouver I knew back in the day had Robson Street known colloquially as Robsonstraße because of all the German stores along it.
It had a long-established Chinatown of Cantonese-speaking Canadians.
It had gay men living in large numbers in the West End and lesbians along Commercial Drive.
Vancouver’s always been diverse. That’s pretty Canadian if you ask me.

Gareth it’s still diverse, although the mix has changed.
Now all the Chinese live in Burnaby..., and the Sikhs live in Surrey!
As a matter of fact, since my daughter lives in Surrey (My son lives in Burnaby) I drive around quite a bit when I visit..., and I see this same old man on just about every street corner!
I still don't know how he gets around Surrey before me all the time..., but wherever I go..., there he is!
The son-of-a-bitch is EVERYWHERE!
