Born in South Africa, Elon Musk is not only American, he's also Canadian.
BUT... He could lose his Canadian citizenship! (An official petition with 180,000 signatories will force Parliament to examine the issue!)
“We, the undersigned citizens of Canada, call on the Prime Minister to revoke Elon Musk's dual nationality status and revoke his Canadian Citizenship with immediate effect.”
A parliamentary petition launched by writer Qualia Reed and supported by MP Charlie Angus (New Democratic Party) is being met with dazzling success.
Since February 20, 2025, over 180,000 signatories have lent their support to the proposal to strip Elon Musk of his Canadian citizenship. (He has a Canadian nationality, in addition to that of his country of origin, South Africa, and that of the United States, by virtue of his mother's origin.)
The headline is clear: Elon Musk is to be dismissed for activities “contrary to the national interest” of Canada!
He's also accused of using his “power and wealth to influence our elections” and of being “part of a foreign government that seeks to destroy Canada's sovereignty.”
Given the 180,000 signatories (in 4 days!), far short of the 500 signatures required for discussion in Parliament, the procedure may not wait until the March 24 session of the Canadian House of Commons.
A vote could, therefore, be taken well before then.
However, the final decision will rest with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau... who has been strongly criticized by both Musk and Drumpf!
