I grew up not being able to recognize people very well and this has a medical term called "face-blindness!" I can meet someone and the very next day I don't know who they are!
This has caused me a lot of grief over the years because some people think I'm just stuck-up or arrogant which couldn't be further from the truth.
My wife, on-the-other-hand, has something psychologists call "Super Face Recognition" and she literally almost never forgets a face!
Here's where the problem comes in!
About once a day 'The Mrs. Herself' will come running into the computer room while I'm working and drag me into the living room to look at some guy I've never seen before on the television!
She will then explain to me how she saw that guy on the telly in Scotland some time in the 1960s before she emigrated to Canada.
It is then my duty as a husband to nod my head and make the appropriate noises to show her how I marvel at her powers of perception!
Now, this only happens once every day or two..., but after almost a quarter-century of appropriate nods and affirmations, the whole process becomes kind of mundane and monotonous..., to the point that my smile must, at times, become rather strained!
I hope she doesn't notice!
