Will the United States be able to repair its relationship with Canada after what has and is still being done? If so, how?
I lived in the US through the Reagan, and both Bush administrations. I didn’t agree with their way of doing things.
I think Bush Jr. and Cheney stole a lot of money from the taxpayers.
I still felt safe, and was able to travel in and out of the US with no worries.
It was possible for ordinary people to live ordinary lives.
Big corporations had too much influence, but that’s more or less normal in the US (and Canada).
There were political abuses, but everyone got a hearing and a lawyer if they were apprehended.
It was possible to elect either Democrats or Republicans, locally, and nationally.
Now, under Trump, and the people around him, things are very different.
People, including US citizens, are dragged of the streets by armed agents, with no identification, no warrants, no hearing or other due process.
Prosecution of Trumps ‘enemies’ is the new normal.
