Canadians are starting to believe they are living in a world in which everyone else has lost their minds.
Remember, Canada skipped over the 2008 “global recession” with no more than a minor hiccup, and has been absorbing huge numbers of immigrants with little fuss or bother, so Canadians have trouble understanding what all the fuss in other countries is about.
Canada has been rationally run for decades compared to most countries. The people in other countries are largely suffering from self-inflicted wounds with problems they created themselves, and incompetent governments which are lashing out at anyone they think is vulnerable.
Canada has a rather passive-aggressive approach to conflict. It is unique among major countries in that it is the only major country that has never started a war, although it has finished a number of them.
People tend not to recognize that Canada is a G7 country. It is a major developed country with huge natural resources, the second biggest one in terms of land area, and has a bigger economy than Russia nowadays.
It doesn’t complain loudly, but it just doesn’t do what other countries demand if they don’t act politely toward it. It’s not as if they can invade Canada. The United States tried twice and lost both times.
